With so much controversy surrounding the recent National Republican Senatorial Committee endorsement of Florida Charlie Crist, NRSC Chairman John Cornyn decided to guest post on RedState explaining his support of Crist.
I understand I am in a small minority here but I commend Chairman Cornyn for not only endorsing Crist but also taking time to post on RedState. By endorsing Crist the NRSC is most likely going to win this seat. If the NRSC had thrown their support behind Marco Rubio they would have undoubtedly had to throw immense amounts of cash into the race. Now, the NRSC can spread that money around to other races.
To me this endorsement only made sense.
With “Nearly half of Nevadans” wanting Reid out of office, the National Republican Senatorial Committee has capitalized on his diminishing numbers and released this ad. Reid has been under fire from the Republicans ever since he approved Pres. Obama’s “porkulus” package.
More recently, Reid threw a blow-out party at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. When asked about the party Reid said “It’s part of Washington.” Well Mr. Reid since when is a 60+ year old man throwing wild parties in Vegas part of Washington?
If this is what our politicians do with our money then I think I am in the wrong profession.

By Congressman Michael McCaul (R-TX 10)
President Obama and the Democrats that control Congress have made a hard push for their so-called economic stimulus package to mend our economy. Later today, I will have to vote on this bill. And before I do, I want to share with you some of the many reasons why I intend to vote against it.
· $80 billion for refundable tax-credits to individuals, even if they pay no taxes.
· $1 billion for the 2010 census
· $650 million for digital TV coupons.
· $600 million for new cars for the federal government.
· $6 billion for colleges/universities – many which have billion dollar endowments.
· $50 million in funding for the National Endowment of the Arts.
· $44 million for repairs to U.S. Department of Agriculture headquarters.
· $200 million for the National Mall
· $800 million to Amtrak
· $335 million for Sexually Transmitted Disease education and prevention
· $150 million for Smithsonian repairs
None of these will stimulate the economy. Once again, the Democrats have taken advantage of an economic emergency to push through and fund parts of their own liberal agenda. Worse, the frivolous spending far outweighs the few pieces of the bill that will create jobs quickly enough to impact the economy and get it moving again.

Earlier today Senator Cornyn was elected Chairman of the NRSC!
This is great news for us in West Texas and for all of the Lone Star State!
Word is that his campaign manager, Rob Jesmer, will be Executive Director of the organization. I receieved Rob’s e-mails throughout the campaign and feel he’s a great choice. I hope the NRSC will continue reaching out to blogs and using technology to get their message across to voters across the country.

The time is upon us-ELECTION DAY!
I am voting for McCain-Palin for President and re-electing John Cornyn for Senate. YOU SHOULD TOO!
The Cornyn campaign has done an incredible job bringing together bloggers from across Texas and keeping us informed with what’s going on. We need more politicians who know how to use New Media to get their message out.
Tonight I will post my reactions but for time time being get out and vote!

Senator Cornyn’s campaign today released a couple web videos.
One of them thanked myself and the 99 other conservative bloggers who have been blogging for the Senator throughout the election.
I say back, thank you Senator for your representation in Washington.
The other video urged Texans to get out and vote.
Remeber on Tuesday we need to re-elect Cornyn!
Following up on the popularity of his “Energy Week”, Senator Cornyn is hosting “Fiscal Week” on his campaign blog.
He’s already unrolled a guest post by Congressman Hensarling and a video by Grover Norquist.
The campaign told me Governor Romney will join the fray tomorrow.

For those who haven’t sen it(most of you)…Rick Noriega released a new ad this morning which took aim at Senator Cornyn. The ad compares tries to link him to Jack Abramoff which is SOOOO last year.
Click his ad below:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV13KVbcriQ
The problem is THE FACTS which are that John Cornyn has never met Jack Abramoff.
Cornyn even supported an investigation against Abramoff.
As a Texan I hope Noriega will prove this accusation true or get off his high horse. There’s no time for this kind of politics.
